QR Studio is a QR code creation, design, and scanning app for iOS and Android, published by Redmoon Software Ltd. This policy explains what information QR Studio collects, how it is used, and the choices you have. We do not sell your data, and QR Studio does not show ads.
Information we collect
Account information
When you create an account using email/password, Sign in with Apple, or Google Sign-In, we store your email address, display name, and profile photo URL. Business-tier accounts may enable two-factor authentication (TOTP); the setup details are stored securely and are never shared.
You can also use QR Studio as a guest without creating an account. Guest content stays on your device only, and is uploaded to our servers only if you later create an account.
Your content
- The QR codes you create: destination content (for example, URLs, Wi-Fi credentials, contact cards, SMS/email templates, phone numbers, or cryptocurrency addresses), design settings, folders, tags, and any brand assets (logos, colors) you upload.
- Images you generate using the in-app AI image tool.
This content is stored in our cloud database and file storage so it can sync across your devices, and is tied to your account.
Scan activity
- Scanning with your camera: the history of codes you scan using QR Studio’s built-in scanner is stored locally on your device only. It is never uploaded to our servers.
- Analytics for your own dynamic codes: if you create a dynamic (trackable) QR code, we log the time of each scan, the visitor’s approximate country, and device family (for example, “iOS” or “Android”). We do not store the scanner’s raw IP address. To count unique visitors without being able to re-identify them, we compute a one-way cryptographic hash of the IP address and browser identifier.
Subscription information
Subscriptions are processed through the Apple App Store or Google Play and managed on our behalf by RevenueCat, using your account ID to identify your subscription. We do not receive or store your payment card details. We store your current subscription tier so the app can unlock the features you have paid for.
Optional Business-tier integrations
If you are on a Business-tier plan, you may optionally configure webhooks or use our REST API to send your own scan-event data to third-party URLs or systems that you control. We do not access, inspect, or retain the destinations or content of these integrations beyond what is required to deliver them.
How we use your information
- To sync your QR codes, folders, and designs across your devices.
- To show you scan analytics for the dynamic codes you own.
- To process and manage your subscription.
- To provide the optional AI-assisted features described below.
- To respond to support requests.
We do not use your content or account information for advertising.
AI features
QR Studio includes optional AI-assisted features:
- Design and content assistance — style suggestions, content parsing, an in-app chat assistant, and analysis of logos or brand images you upload — is powered by Anthropic’s Claude API.
- AI image generation — creating an image from a text prompt you type — is powered by Google’s Gemini API.
When you use these features, the relevant text prompt or image is sent to Anthropic or Google for processing. We apply automated filtering intended to reduce personal information in prompts before they are sent, but we recommend avoiding sensitive personal details in any AI prompt. Your account identity is not attached to these requests, and prompts are not used by us to advertise to you.
Sharing
We use the following service providers to operate QR Studio:
- Google Firebase, for authentication, database, file storage, and backend functions.
- RevenueCat, together with the Apple App Store and Google Play, to process subscriptions.
- Anthropic and Google, for the AI features described above.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with advertisers.
Data retention and your rights
You can edit or delete individual QR codes, sign out, or delete your account entirely from the Settings screen in the app. Deleting your account removes your codes, folders, brand assets, and analytics from our systems within 30 days. To request a copy of your data, or to ask a question about your privacy, email support@redmoonsoftware.com.
Security
Data is transmitted over encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS) and stored on Google Cloud infrastructure. Access to production data is restricted to the personnel who operate the service.
Children
QR Studio is not directed to children under 13. If we learn that we have collected information from a child under 13, we will delete it.
International users
QR Studio is operated by Redmoon Software Ltd. (New Zealand) using Google Cloud infrastructure. By using the app, you understand that your information may be processed in countries other than your own.
Changes to this policy
If we make material changes to this policy, we will prompt you in the app before you continue using it, and we will update the date at the top of this page.
